Some colonization we can get behind: Intro to Fungal Biology and Wine-Cap bed installation

Saturday October 19th, 2019

My name is and I’m a local maker, and myco-enthusiast .  I have lived in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains for the past 9 years and have been unraveling the ball of yarn that is Mycology for the past 3.  My interest in fungi came when I was introduced to the Lion’s Mane mushroom or Hericium erinaceus, I was floored not only by how delicious it was, but also by its medicinal power.  Fast Forward a year with lots of internet research and self teaching, I find myself working on a Mushroom farm helping with cultivation, making medicine and value added goods part time.  After working in production cultivation I stepped away from the Mushroom farming world and am now pursuing education in Fungal Ecology.  Yes, its amazing how our fungal friends can help us human beings through sustenance, mind expansion,  and medicine but whats really incredible is how they support life on this earth.  I’m humbled to share the power of fungi with you all!
